Toronto Car Show 2012
I went to the Car Show in Toronto a couple of weeks ago and did some sketches. I realized the my future car is going to be the Fiat 500 because I fit inside it like it was built exactly for me..it's amazing, and cheap!! Cadillac was showing off their 3 million dollar concept car, which was really cool (unfortunately the showgirls were not with the car...but they should have been!... which is why I put them there) The sketches I did were in copic marker and pencil crayon, they were really quick, maybe 5 to 10 minutes each. I refined some of the drawing at home using photo reference for characterisitcs such as the bumpers and headlights because drawing standing up with people pushing and shoving doesn't allow for alot of observation of detail haha. The Cadillac sketch was done completely at the Show, and coloured later in Photoshop

Alfred and the Bride
Here are the other two:) The butler reminded me of Alfred from Batman and the bride, well she looks pretty generic but the dress was fun!
Now I'm back to animating in Flash, hopefully I'll get to post that soon

1940
For the past few weeks I've been working on a 3D animated dance in Maya. I love animating but I felt like I needed to break from it for a while to do some drawing. I was inspired by a few artists to create this piece, Francisco Herrera, Gil Elvgren and one of my friends and classmates, Ben Anders:) The idea was to create an elegant and graphic rendition of a 1940's "femme fatale" using a colour palette of white black and red. I don't usually do alot of graphic pieces and I saw this as a challenge to create something simple, yet effective. My last name is imprinted into the background because I am hoping to use this piece in my Title page for my demo reel.
Now I have to get back to animating that dance...almost done, will post it soon!

Rodney's Rabbit
Rodney's Rabbit- 3rd Year Sheridan College Action Analysis Project from Lisa Lanese on Vimeo.
Creating this was so much fun, while doing this I realized why I'm studying animation, because bringing drawings to life is probably the best career a person can have. :D

Drawn from Life
Hi again! It's been a long time since my last post mainly because I've been extremely busy finishing up some end of semester projects. I've been doing a lot of lifedrawing over the semester so I thought I would post all my favourite drawings from the last few months:) They are all done in a variety of media (I like exploring new things) such as pastel, conte, pen and ink, copic marker and ink wash. I've also finished a ten second animated scene which I will be posting very soon! Stay tuned and enjoy!
