After the Bull Fight....

Been working on my film lately, so I decided to take a break and do some other stuff, like this drawing. It's basically a coloured version of one of my lifedrawings that I though was pretty funny. Will be posting my Leica soon! Enjoy:)

Day 3! Yippee

Chinese housewife, that's really a man? I dunno what I was thinking today. Maybe I just like men in women's clothes - so much so that I think I may be basing my 4th year film around the idea (but not on this drawing) aha!

Day 2!

A Drawing A Day

Hi again! So I've started my final year at Sheridan College and I'm super busy finalizing my story ideas for my thesis film. I realised how very little I draw on paper nowadays seeing as we have access to all these cintiqs and other fancy equipment. I bought a brand new sketchbook and my goal is to fill one page every day with a new drawing until the book is done. This keeps me fresh and gives me other things to focus on when my film gives me those frustrating days. Here's one from a few days ago! I recently got access to a scanner and will hopefully be posting a new drawing every day. Yay for updates!

Beyonce Day

Today I had a Beyonce day at work. I was listening to "love on top" and watching her music videos and I really really wanted to draw her....really bad. So I sketched this up after work, it's sort of an inspiration for my film. Last week in California!~

Sketches @ The Grove LA

Went sketching at the Grove mall last weekend with some animation friends. I usually sketch with pencil crayon but this time I tried markers and I think I like markers better.

It has been a crazy busy summer at my internship and I haven't been able to update much but I'm starting the preliminary work for my film (which will be Burlesque/ Cabaret themed) and I will continue to post as I find ideas. :)

Happy Drawing

Disney Pin-Up Collection

It's been awhile since my last post. I've been busy with my internship at Six Point Harness animation studios in Los Angeles. During my spare time I conjured up the idea to do some Disney Pin-Ups because I was inspired by some art on the walls of the Disney Store at Disneyland. Here's the first one, Cinderella. I will be posting more throughout the summer. These help keep me inspired for the theme of my thesis film which is Burlesque :) I'm excited!

That Darn Follow Button

Some people have been asking me why they can't follow my blog, and it seems I don't have a follow button on my navbar and there doesn't seem to be any way to fix that.
However there is another way.
If you want to follow my blog  just click the big "follow this blog" button that sits above my followers list in the sidebar. This will add you to my blog the same way the navbar button would.
Maybe some of you already knew that, but I know I didn't haha; Blogger confuses me every so often...
So if you are having following issues, this should fix that!

Have a good evening:)
I am off to see the midnight showing of The Avengers (been waiting so long - I'm excited as ever!)

I'm Back!

It's been a while since my last post, I've been working away at that film I keep mentioning. The film is finally done and we are getting it ready to submit in some film festivals. I should have a trailer for it soon. Now that the film is finished I can get back into doing some of my own art, here is a film noir inspired drawing I conjured up in the last few days before classes ended.

Now, I'm off to California for the summer on an internship! Gotta keep drawing :)

Toronto Car Show 2012

I went to the Car Show in Toronto a couple of weeks ago and did some sketches. I realized the my future car is going to be the Fiat 500 because I fit inside it like it was built exactly for me..it's amazing, and cheap!! Cadillac was showing off their 3 million dollar concept car, which was really cool (unfortunately the showgirls were not with the car...but they should have been!... which is why I put them there) The sketches I did were in copic marker and pencil crayon, they were really quick, maybe 5 to 10 minutes each. I refined some of the drawing at home using photo reference for characterisitcs such as the bumpers and headlights because drawing standing up with people pushing and shoving doesn't allow for alot of observation of detail haha. The Cadillac sketch was done completely at the Show, and coloured later in Photoshop

Alfred and the Bride

Here are the other two:) The butler reminded me of Alfred from Batman and the bride, well she looks pretty generic but the dress was fun!

Now I'm back to animating in Flash, hopefully I'll get to post that soon

1940

For the past few weeks I've been working on a 3D animated dance in Maya. I love animating but I felt like I needed to break from it for a while to do some drawing. I was inspired by a few artists to create this piece, Francisco Herrera, Gil Elvgren and one of my friends and classmates, Ben Anders:) The idea was to create an elegant and graphic rendition of a 1940's "femme fatale" using a colour palette of white black and red. I don't usually do alot of graphic pieces and I saw this as a challenge to create something simple, yet effective. My last name is imprinted into the background because I am hoping to use this piece in my Title page for my demo reel.

Now I have to get back to animating that dance...almost done, will post it soon!
