Rodney's Rabbit

Rodney's Rabbit- 3rd Year Sheridan College Action Analysis Project from Lisa Lanese on Vimeo.

This is my final project before the end of semester one! I worked over 100 hours on this project and I was extremely excited to see the result! This is the first finished animated piece I've made, and I can't wait to make more. I painted the background on Photoshop CS5.5 and animated the character traditionally and cleaned it up on Flipbook and Photoshop. I put the video together on After Effects:)
Creating this was so much fun, while doing this I realized why I'm studying animation, because bringing drawings to life is probably the best career a person can have. :D

Meat Pie

Here's a tidbit of fanart, I needed a break from all the school related stuff. The other day I was inspired by some rough sketches that my friend Seema did of Mrs. Lovett from Sweeny Todd. I drew this as a quick sketch and then decided to try out some brush techniques on it in photoshop. Mrs. Lovett has always been one of my favourite film characters and I think its interesting to see what she would look like if she was translated into a cartoon character.
Lately I've been trying to adapt to different styles of drawing and painting to explore variety, but this is done in my own comfortable style. I figured that I needed to go back to my traditional way of drawing for a bit to rediscover my passion for doing art :)

Fun with Steve's Barber Shop!

I decided to use those barbershop sketches and make a concept painting of the final look of our film. I definately had fun messing with film effects on After Effects and the glow effect made it look so cool! I feel like I should have put some lava lamps in there, it feels like a rave party or something. Hehe

City Street Concept work for my group film:)

Here is a concept painting for my third year group film. This is the original location design concept. Our story has changed a bit so we will be creating a new location design soon. We are going for a more graphic and lineless style for our film :)

First Digital BG!

So painting in Photoshop is a new experience for me. It is much faster and much cleaner than traditional painting, so I think I might like it better. This is once again an original layout design. I wanted it to be a French style village because I really love old French architecture. Now I am officially working only in photoshop for BG paintings so there will be many more to come! :D

I recently edited the buildings in the background to give the painting a softer look. Here are both versions.

A NEW STYLE

Ok, so I paint realistically. Well, I decided I was going to go graphic. I'm in animation! They always say simple is better right? So heres a simple painting. Graphic style done in guache, original layout inspired by the old bugs bunny cartoons:)

The Victorian Painting

This one is defiantely more vibrant. Still painted in guache and completely influenced by the Christmas Carol...oh world lit class, you still managed to slip yourself into my artwork..

Final Exterior Painting!

Heres the final piece! Painted in guache. It was definately October when I painted this
